Before you start

  • The Android device must be connected to the Internet throughout installation. You need to have physical access to the child’s device to install our application;

Choice of device control modes

The application supports two distinct modes of child’s device control:  

•  Simple – enables application control of already active devices but older kids eventually find a way to subvert the control;
•  Total Control – special mode that disables advanced Android features such as Safe Boot and Multiple Users that can be used to break through control functions. The mode requires new or factory reset device.  

Please chose the installation and configuration instructions according to desired control mode

  1. Download Advanced Parental Tools for Android and open the the app on child’s device;
  2. If you already created an account than proceed to next step, otherwise click on Create Account and follow instructions;
  3. Login and wait until you presented with setup wizard screen;
  4. Select operating mode Controller, then proceed to next page and select mode Simple;
  5. Proceed along the setup wizard instructions and provide necessary permissions;
  6. Once complete you will be presented with a list of all the applications currently installed on your device;
  7. At this point you can start using control and notification features of the application, however if you wish to have remote control than proceed to next step;
  8. Download Advanced Parental Tools for Android and open the the app on parent’s device;
  9. Login and wait until you presented with setup wizard screen;
  10. Select operation mode Remote Control, then proceed to next pages and finish setup wizard;
  11. Once complete please open the main menu and click on Select Remote Controller, then select the name of child’s device in provided list;
  12.  Here you should have functioning remote control on your device;

  1. Download Advanced Parental Tools for Android and open the the app on parent’s device;
  2. If you already created an account than proceed to next step, otherwise click on Create Account and follow instructions;
  3. Login and wait until you presented with setup wizard screen;
  4. Select operating mode Remote Control, then proceed to next pages and finish setup wizard;
  5. Open main menu and select Total Control
  6. Follow Total Control wizard instruction to create activation (QR) token;
  7. Once you have QR code you can proceed to child’s device activation. Please ensure your child’s device is new or after Factory Reset;
  8. Initiate setup wizard on a new or factory-reset Android 6.0+ device;
  9. Enter Wi-Fi login details to connect the device to the internet;
  10. When prompted to sign in, enter afw#setup , which downloads Android Device Policy;
  11. Scan the QR code (containing an enrollment token) to enroll the device. If this isn’t possible than enter the enrollment token manually;
  12. Shortly after successful scan proceed to Advanced Parental Tools application and login to your account.
    If application is not installed automatically please proceed to Play Store and initiate install manually.
  13. Continue according to Setup Wizard instructions;
  14. At this point you have completed activation of Total Control on child’s device and can connect to it from parents’s device for remote management;
